Specialist in power electronics: special-purpose power supplies, both linear (some low-noise, high stability) and switched-mode, high- and low-voltage outputs, analog and digital circuitry.
Supplies operate off single-phase or 3-phase AC or DC. Can design magnetic components and perform optimal configuration of overall, multi-output power system utilizing either purchased or in-house-designed power modules. Cost tradeoffs drive the choice. Design and analyze digital and low-level/high-level analog circuitry, for airborne and ground equipment, benign and hostile environments. Model analog circuits in P-SPICE, and do accuracy analysis. Extensive experience in clear and concise documentation. Write reports, procurement specifications and test procedures. Familiar with MIL specs for components (capacitors, magnetics, resistors, semiconductors) and for systems. Have developed MIL and non-MIL electronics, specially configured for the customer. Follow design through packaging and production. Review PC layouts and wiring. Supervise debugging of breadboard and final hardware test. Design test jigs and test setups.
